It is known today that the earliest temples were built by the pharaoh Nectanebo II, there are also structures known to have been built by the pharaoh Pepi I.
The Hathor Temple, also considered to be the main temple underwent many renovations as time is passed from one pharaoh to another. This temple rests on the foundations of one of the earliest architecture during the reign of Khufu and Cheops.
For most parts of the temple it is dedicated to the goddess of fertility and sky Hathor, represented by an image of a crocodile.
