The newest Cairo Luxor Sightseeing Tour provides you with an insight on Egypt’s two most culturally and historically rich places. With so many places to discover, your journey will be one great adventure in the modern yet ancient twist of Egypt. Take a visit to the Pyramids in Cairo, and drop by the magnificent temples in Luxor. You will find this will make your vacation truly exciting.

Day 1: Arrival At Cairo

Once you arrive in Cairo, a 123EgyptTours.com representative will meet you. He will handle your Egyptian Entry Visa which must be checked ahead of time to prevent any problems. Also, he will assist you through customs formalities. After that, you will be escorted by your tour director to your hotel to be checked in—you will spend the night in Cairo.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Giza

Today will be the start of your Cairo Luxor Sightseeing journey. Your Egyptologist guide will accompany you through the many attractions.

First, you will visit Sakkara, a part of Memphis’ massive necropolis, and the burial site of Egypt’s most ancient of Pharaohs. In Sakkara, you will also visit the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, designed by the Ancient Egyptian architect Imhotep. Next, you will visit the Teti Pyramids and tombs in Sakkara.

After that, you will be transported to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. You will visit the colossal statue of Ramses II and then a nearby half-buried Hathor Temple. Your driver will take you to the famous Giza Plateau; home to the world’s only standing Ancient wonder, the Great Pyramids of Giza. You will visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and the Mykerinos—from the largest to the smallest. You will also witness the mysterious Sphinx, the father of terror for the ancient pharaohs. Facing the Great Sphinx is the Valley Temple. An optional place to visit is the Solar boat; you may be charged extra. It was a boat used to carry the pharaoh’s mummy across the Nile River, which was then buried at the foot of the pyramid for use in his afterlife.

After this exhilarating journey, you will have lunch and then a relaxing drive back to your hotel. If you want, you can witness the Pyramids Sounds and Lights show at night, but this may cost you extra. Otherwise, you will spend the night in Cairo.

Day 3: Sightseeing Tours in Cairo

After you enjoy your breakfast at the hotel in Cairo, your Cairo Luxor viewing tour continues. Your private Egyptologist tour guide will guide you to visit the world-renowned Egyptian Museum. It was built in the Neo-Classical style designed by French architect Marcel Dourgnon. It exhibits over 12,000 masterpieces ranging from different eras of Egypt—pre-dynatic, Pharaonic, and Greco-Roman.

Some of the highlights in the museum include the treasures of the child king Tutankhamen, the Pharaonic Gods and Goddesses, and the mummies room, although this room may charge you extra. A great learning experience of the mummies room is that you can know more about the art of mummification in ancient Egypt.

After that, you will be taken to the Citadel of Saladin that overlooks the city from Mugattam Hills. Also, you will visit the Mohammed Ali Alabaster Mosque there that was built in the Turkish style—very similar to the Blue Mosque in Turkey. It is also considered to be one of the greatest landmarks in Cairo. Its minaret has been notable or being seen from any pat of old Cairo.

You will then visit the Christian Heritage in Coptic Cairo to view some of the early religious monuments of the city. This includes the Hanging church, or the suspended church. This church was named for its location on top of the south gate of the Fortress of Babylon. This church became known as the center of Christianity in Egypt.

You will also visit the famous Jewish Heritage in Cairo. This includes the Ben Ezra Synagogue which contains a Jewish heritage library of documents found since 1896. These describe the socio-economic conditions of Jews during Arab rule as well as the different Jewish sects.

After your eventful Cairo experience, you will be taken back to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 4: Luxor Sightseeing Tour

After your breakfast in Cairo, you will now be taken to the next part of your Cairo Luxor Sightseeing journey—the beautiful city of Luxor. Taking a flight there, you will be welcomed by our personal guide.

He will start with accompanying you to visit the West Bank of the River Nile—with the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III or otherwise known as the Colossi of Memnon. After this, you will visit the Valley of the Kings, where the royal tombs are discovered. These were carved deep into the desert rock and richly decorated and filled with treasures for the afterlife of the pharaohs. You will visit 3 popular tombs.

You will continue the tour to visit the Hatshepsut Temple at El Deir El Bahary. This impressive temple was dedicated to the only female Pharaoh of Egypt. It rises out of the desert plain in a series of terraces and merges with the sheer limestone cliffs that surround it.

After this, your Cairo Luxor sightseeing adventure hasn’t ended yet! You will be taken to the famous Karnak Temple, the largest worshiping place ever built. In ancient times, it was known as “Ipet-Isut”, which meant the “most sacred of places.” The complex of temples was built more than 2,000 years ago by generations of pharaohs. An interesting site in the complex is the great Hypostyle Hall, which is an incredible forest of giant pillars.

After your journey in Luxor, you will be taken to the Luxor Domestic Airport to go back to Cairo. You will be driven back to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 5: Cairo and Back Home

After your Cairo Luxor Sightseeing Journey, it’s time to go back home. You will start the day off with your breakfast. After that, our representative will meet and assist you to transfer you through air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo International Airport for your flight back home.
