Siwa Oasis Tour

Siwa Oasis is one of the most enigmatic of the desert oases, the site of the great world war, many of Siwa’s old mud brick structures are now destroyed but those that are still around is a sight to behold. Visit the tombs inside the Dead Mountain, Temple of Alexander, Cleopatra bath, the Temple of Aghormi, Siwa House Museum; End your tour by watching the amazing Siwa Desert sunset with the Bedouins Tea.

 


Day 1: Alamein & Siwa Oasis

Cairo, home of one of the world’s most ancient civilization and the greatest engineering feet in those days. A representative from 123EgyptTours.com will be meeting you at your hotel in Cairo. From there you will then driven to Alamein which is about 3 hours driving. Upon arrival Al Alamein, visit the site where a great battle took place during World War II, at the same area visit the World War II Museum and Cemetery to see the relics of the last Great War. Drive on to the beautiful Mediterranean Coast where you will be able to see the Bay of Marsa Matrouh. The drive from Alamein to Siwa is about 5 hours, dinner and accommodation is arranged in Siwa.

 

Day 2: Siwa Oasis – Egypt’s Most Mysterious Oasis

After your breakfast at the hotel get to see and  enjoy the Old City of Siwa (Shaly) – be amazed at the old fortified town of Siwa which is now gone through a great deal of deterioration through time. Visit the ancient tombs in the Mountain of the Dead. From there continue your tour of the Siwa Oasis by transferring  to Abu Sherouf, one of the Siwa Villages to get a feel of the Bedouin lifestyle and enjoy the Roman Spring eye and handcraft. See the amazing sunset at Alawsut Lake towards the end of the day. Return to your hotel in Siwa for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 3: An Excursion to the Temple Of Alexander and Cleopatra Bath

Breakfast will be served at the hotel; move to visit the Amun’s Temple a temple dedicated to God Amon in the 26th Dynasty also known as the Oracle temple where the Conqueror Alexander the Great is known to consult the Oracle. Lunch will be served during this day tour, right after lunch move back to see the Siwa House Museum. Finally before the day ends do not miss the Sunset view at Fitnas Lake.

 

Day 4: Visit Abu Ali Village and Tomb of Alexander the Great

After your hotel breakfast, start our journey at the Siwa Desert. Begin with Abu Ali Village where you will find the Tomb of Alexander the Great, a place known to be where he was said to be the son of the God Amoun Ra. After which you will not be crossing the desert to stop near one of unique archeology sights, Great Siwa Mountain, a place where the first human footprint was seen above the mountain, dating back to pre-historic era.

 

Continue our Siwa Oasis Tour by traveling between the dunes till we arrive to the fossils area and see the rocky coral reefs which date to Cambrian era. From there drive to one of the spring eyes at the middle of the desert also known as Shitta Lake and it is a good chance to watch the Flamenco birds. Lunch will be served during the day tour. After the tour get a chance to experience the sand surfing at the desert, before we go to swim at the cold spring eye. After it is the time to drive to another spring eyes this time towards the hot spring eye to relax muscles. End the day by watching the sunset at the desert with the Bedouins Tea. At the end of the day, finally drive back to your hotel for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 5: Back Cairo

After breakfast at your Siwa Hotel your Siwa Oasis Tour will come to an end, drive back to Cairo.
